about

Once again Mick Kolassa has assembled a collection of blues that
reflects his love of all styles of this amazing music, and he assembled
an all-star group of artists to help him bring it to life. Mick’s previous
albums received critical acclaim, and Taylor Made Blues won’t
disappoint those who have loved his past work. As with the previous
albums the proceeds from Taylor Made Blues will go to the Blues
Foundation’s HART Fund and Generation Blues programs.
Taking full advantage of his tastes and experience and the talents
of the amazing musicians who helped him put this together, Mick and
collaborator Jeff Jensen have again delivered a real treat for blues
fans. With original songs including back porch styled “Baby Faced
Louise” to the fun “I’m Getting Late”, the heavy protest funk of “In The
Day” the deeply emotional “Left Too Soon” and the title song about
his Mississippi home in “Taylor Made Blues” Mick’s own creations
cover a lot of blues territory. His adaptations of Graham Nash’s
“Prison Song”, Townes Van Zandt’s “Lungs” and the Temptation’s
Classic “I Can’t Get Next To You” will once again delight audiences -
and turning the classic poem “Keep A Goin” into a gospel romp will
force people to clap their hands and sing along.
Mick doesn’t just sing and play the blues, he celebrates them. This
album is produced by Jeff Jensen, who also is featured on lead guitar,
Jeff and Mick assembled a dream team of some of blues music’s
most talented musicians – whom Mick also celebrates with his song
“Friends Like Mine.”
